Product Manager · MBA Candidate · USC Marshall ’27

Products that move money,
scale networks, and reach patients.

I’m Pratyush — a product manager who has spent five years shipping software at the seam of strategy and engineering. Most recently led product strategy and quality for Reuters’ Elektron market-data platform; previously shipped SD-WAN at Nokia and ultrasound systems at Philips. Now studying at USC Marshall as a Dean’s Merit Scholar.

Based in Los Angeles, CA
Currently MBA · AVP, Marshall Product Club
Recently Thomson Reuters · Elektron
Open to PM internships · Summer ’26

01 — Selected work

Three companies. One throughline: ship the boring stuff well.

Market data for trading desks, SD-WAN for global carriers, ultrasound for hospitals. Products where the cost of being wrong is real.

Featured · Nov 2023 — Jul 2025

Thomson Reuters · Elektron — product strategy & quality lead.

Reuters’ real-time market-data platform serves trading desks that price every flicker. I led the strategy and quality cut: benchmarked Elektron against Bloomberg B-PIPE and ICE Consolidated Feed, ran the GTM playbook with sales, and stayed close enough to the platform to chase down latency regressions.

  • $8M+ projected ARR informed by the competitive framework
  • $12M pipeline accelerated; sales cycle 14 → 10 wks
  • 72 h to restore SLA on a streaming-API latency regression
  • 3 → 1 wk competitive-intel cycle, with LLM prototyping

What I’m proud of

  1. Built a 6-dimension framework — latency, coverage, pricing, API flexibility, support SLA, migration cost — that turned competitive analysis from one-off slide decks into three roadmap bets worth $8M+ in projected ARR for the Refinitiv Workspace migration.
  2. Wrote the kind of battle cards reps actually open: 5 cards and 2 ROI calculators reaching 30+ sales reps globally, compressing the enterprise sales cycle from 14 weeks to 10.
  3. When the streaming API’s p95 latency spiked from 8 ms to 45 ms, partnered with the platform team to isolate the bottleneck and restored SLA for 12 high-frequency trading clients within 72 hours.
  4. Used LLM prototyping (OpenAI API, careful prompting) to automate competitive-intel report generation — half the manual effort, quarterly cycle from 3 weeks to 1.

Sept 2020 — Oct 2023

Nokia · Nuage Networks — SD-WAN that ships on Friday.

Product Quality Engineer on Nuage VSP, Nokia’s SD-WAN platform. Owned hardware-software integration across 8 NSG models and 3 VSP releases for AT&T, Deutsche Telekom and NTT.

  • 20+ carrier deployments
  • 99.9% first-deployment success
  • $2.3M competitive displacement
  • 3× release velocity (qtrly → monthly)

Hardware-in-loop · Python automation · 40-page Nuage vs. Cisco/VMware/Fortinet deep-dive

Jan 2020 — Jun 2020

Philips · ClearVue 850 — ultrasound through FDA.

Product Engineer on Philips’ ultrasound imaging platform. Translated 8 cardiology and obstetrics workflows into technical specs and shipped firmware for the FDA 510(k) submission.

  • 300+ hospital units
  • −40% scan-to-diagnosis time
  • +15 NPS across 5 hospital networks
  • FDA 510(k) on schedule

Embedded video pipeline · DICOM-SR · HL7 FHIR · HealthSuite cloud export

02 — Side project

Rang De — a tinting & dispensing app for paint dealers.

A self-initiated product exploration: design a native mobile experience that lets a dealer pick a fan-deck, pour a base, dispense colorants in millilitres, and refill cartridges — without leaving the counter.

Why I built it

  1. Wanted a small, end-to-end product I could own without a roadmap committee — sensors of taste, not just outcomes.
  2. Reframed tinting from a settings screen into a single glanceable canvas: colorants, can size, and total price visible at the same time.
  3. Made maintenance forgiving. Current level, new level, and minimum level live on one card so a busy dealer can refill without second-guessing.

03 — Product teardowns

Twelve weekly teardowns — Learn In Public.

Two cohorts of the NextLeap PM Learn-In-Public challenge. Each deck: business-model canvas, user personas, annotated journey map, UX review (the good & the bad), competitive landscape, recommendations, and a metrics framework (North Star + L1/L2). Click any card to open the PDF.

★ 12 / 12 challenges shipped on time — written, designed, and posted weekly.

04 — About

Strategy first.
Engineering literate.
Quietly opinionated.

I work best where the brief is a little unclear and the engineering is a little hard. My favourite stretch of any week is the part between a half-formed customer signal and a written PRD that the platform team doesn’t hate.

I came to product through a CS degree at R.V. College of Engineering, three years of hardware-in-loop quality work at Nokia, and a strategy seat at Reuters where I learned what it costs when a trading-desk SLA slips. I’m at USC Marshall now (Dean’s Merit Scholar, GMAT 760) sharpening the strategy and finance side, AVP at the Marshall Product Club, and AVP Marketing at the South Asian Business Association.

Outside of work, I founded Trektroops, a 570+ member trekking community. I read more product writing than is reasonable and keep a running list of competitive frameworks I will probably never get to use.

  • Loves precision tech, robotics, sustainability in tech.
  • Avoids dashboards no-one reads, vanity metrics.
  • Wants a serious team building something durable.

05 — Capabilities
